With the wind in their hair, a man and woman speed along a country highway on their motor scooter or moped. Where have they come from? Where are they going?
Service is slow at the local coffee shop. Everyone wants a complex order.
But waiting is an opportunity to socialize. The legs and feet suggest the many conversations and interactions taking place. Perhaps the person on the right has reached the counter and is placing an order.
A recreation of a 1940's County Fair at the small Kansas, USA, town of Burden, based upon the boyhood memories of my client.
It includes the home stretch of a horse race in progress, the packed grandstand, the judges' tower, horse barns, a Ferris Wheel, a busy carousel, crowds of people, and many details of a fairground midway.
This view from the Ponte Dellí Accademia, Venice (Venezia), Italy, looks east towards the open water, shows the Saint Maria della Salute in the distance, and other well known buildings on either side. While gondoliers tend to their passengers, other boats hurry past.
