‘Female Friends’ portrays two women, which are very near and dear to each other.

The women look quite alike, and feel strong sexual attraction to each other, which is also made clear in that they are semi-naked. The background color is orange, for Kirsten that’s the color of sexuality.

The woman with the read hair, glances directly at the viewer, she doesn’t know any shame. The woman to the right changes her viewing direction from the inner to the outer – which means she is fully with herself, but at the same time puts her attention at her girlfriend. This constitutes real friendship.
